I enjoy puzzling until every word is in the right place

“I’m a real language puzzler”
As a child I adored England and the English language. I knew early on that when I grew up I wanted to work with the English language, in some way or another. This dream came true. At university I studied English and for the past twenty-five years I have been working as a translator.
I love playing with language; puzzling over a translation until all the words are in the right place.
I have translated a wide variety of texts, from technical manuals to museum guides, from patent descriptions to notarial deeds. But translating legal documents is my passion.

CV in brief
1992 – Graduated in English language and literature
1993 – Vocational higher education certification as an English Translator
2005 – Diploma in Legal Translation in Criminal Cases
2008-2010 – Modules in Dutch Law
I am a sworn translator and am entered in the Dutch national register of sworn translators and interpreters.
When I am not translating, I can be found writing stories. Or learning to dance the salsa. Or curled up with a good book – usually one written in English. Or watching a series on Netflix – possibly one in Spanish these days; that is another beautiful language.
